What is Family Managed Care?

Family Managed Care enables families of a client with respite or home care needs to take full control and responsibility for their family members. Acting as Family Managers, they will coordinate, manage and direct the non-professional services needed by their family member to continue living at home in their community.

As a Family Manager, you may choose to directly employ your own staff. At Care Possible, we’ve made it easy to find a Care Provider who fits the needs of your loved one. We take care of the employment insurance, registering with CRA and background checks, so you don’t have to worry and can focus on getting your family member the best care available.

Family Managers’ responsibilities include:

• using any funding from Regional Health Authorities (RHA) to purchase services or employ staff

• ensure backup services when necessary

• meet the needs of the client

The client can be assessed by the Regional Health Authority in their area to access financial support that can help subsidize hiring care providers.
